Réalta is thrilled to be part of the European Culture and Health Hub (ECHH), a new Horizon Europe project that aims to strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange and policy action in the field of culture and health across Europe.
The project is led by Turku University of Applied Sciences (Finland), with 15 partner organisations across 13 countries, and 5 associated partners, including Réalta, Ireland’s national resource organisation for arts and health.
The ECCH will run over three years (2026 – 2029). Building on existing knowledge, projects and networks, the ECHH aims to bring together policymakers, researchers, and organisations from across sectors to help embed arts and culture more firmly in health and wellbeing policies.
What can you expect from the ECHH?
Over the next three years, the ECHH will offer open-access evidence gap maps, policy briefs and recommendations, practical resources, training opportunities and peer-learning activities.
Through webinars, national policy meetings and cross-sector exchanges, the ECHH will also create opportunities to share experiences, build partnerships and contribute to the development of culture and health policy across Europe.
At its heart, the ECHH aims to create a shared European space for connecting people, evidence, policy and practice, while building on the valuable work already happening across the field.
Launch event
The European Culture and Health Hub will be officially launched with an online event on Friday 11 December 2026 between 9:00–10:30 (Irish time).
Join the launch to discover the project’s ambitions, planned activities and resources, to hear the latest EU policy developments, including the new EU Work Plan for Culture 2027–2030, and to connect with the wider culture and health community.
The launch will also feature interactive breakout discussions, where participants can exchange ideas and experiences on key topics, including mental health and wellbeing, social inclusion, healthy ageing, Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation, and international cultural relations.
